About the performers:
Cultivating his technique since the early 80’s, ben Miller/degeneration creates a sonic tapestry that defies standard guitar playing. Using a self-modified Gibson Kalamazoo, Miller produces a dense multiphonic soundscape by outputting several pickups separately through various FX chains. With the addition of Casio SK1 8-bit sampling, transistor radio, analog synth and tapes, it is difficult to discern where any one sound originates or where it is heading – and it is of this subliminal nature that Miller adheres to.
Forest Management/John Daniel has been writing and recording ambient music since 2011. He currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio.
Watchword is the electronic music project of Jeff Hatfield.
Mike Shiflet is a sound artist living in Columbus, Ohio. His performance technique involves a combination of several analog noise generators with Macintosh computer and software, usually resulting in a mix of rich drones and fluttering, frequency-jumping noises. In addition to recording as a solo artist, he has been involved in a variety of groups ranging from the violin-led improv group Burning Star Core and the laptop duo Scenic Railroads to performance troupe Noumena and cathartic sludge/noise band Sword Heaven. From 1998 until 2008, he ran GMBY Records (known as Gameboy before legal threats from Nintendo) and released exactly 100 albums by improv and noise artists from across the globe. His newest releases include Llanos and Merciless.
