Details:
In this workshop, lead by Bbob Drake, participants learned about the history and original tape techniques of traditional Musique Concrète, installed and configured Audacity on their laptops, learned the basic techniques of audio editing (cutting, splicing, mixing) and manipulation (pitch/time shifting, reverse, effects), and created their own compositions using found sounds, the aesthetic principles of Musique Concrète, and Audacity’s editing capabilities.
This workshop was part of our Science of Sound workshop series, which was supported with an Arts Partnership grant from the Ohio Arts Council.
