Creative coding is a type of computer programming that emphasizes the expressive over the functional.

In this two-session workshop, participants will learn how to code and create drawings, while learning the foundations of computer programming. As an entry point, we will be using the free and open source software p5.js, a JavaScript library for creative coding, designed to make programming fun, accessible and inclusive for all! p5.js runs in most browsers and has been used by artists and designers to make visual art, generative drawings, animations, and more!

Learn the basics of drawing with code and computational thinking, as we dive into generative art and learn the fundamentals of p5.js to create dynamic sketches through the use of variables, conditionals, loops, arrays, randomness, and functions. Workshop requirements: Computer with reliable internet connection
