About the performers:
SECRET DRUM BAND is a percussion ensemble based in Portland, Oregon. Lisa Schonberg started the band in 2006 as a experimental quartet for Ladyfest Olympia. It’s current incarnation features five percussionists and two ambient musicians. Many of SDB’s works were composed in response to soundscape and form in locations chosen to draw attention to issues concerning endangered species, ecosystem function, and habitat loss.
GNOTHI SEAUTON EPHEMERAL PERFORMANCE ART ENSEMBLE makes live interventions inspired by punk, comics, cinema, science, nightmares & dreams by live soundscaping & our own style of visceral movement theater & dance. our work is a catharsis through collision and conflict challenging how we see audience, architecture, music, history, myth, and reality. it comes out of a deep desire for conspiracy, soul-exchange, and transformation.
Wild Torus (WT) refers to the dualistic yin/yang nature of the 2 leaders of the collective: Vlady Voz Tokk and Mág Ne Tá. Our rituals are mythical and hyper-sensory, often with references to aliens overlords, cult theologies, and our own personal trajectories. They bring artists and audience members together to engender alternate realities and deconstruct the Internet-driven, consumerist society we live in today through Fluxus-style happenings. We call ourselves Cyber Shamans, as we believe that we are medicine people for the digital age.

Wild Torus is interested in the intersection of performance art with noise music and video installation. We are devoted to the avant-garde and genre-defying aspects of expanded performance. We use both shocking and subtle tactics to reinterpret pervasive cultural standards. Our goal is to create acceptance in the broad socio-cultural context of fringe and extreme ideas, to lay the groundwork for the transformation of society from a culture of repression and control to a culture of openness and personal freedom. Our vision is to create uncommon, sacred environments, which confront technological displacement and physical alienation. New opportunities allow us to present challenging spectacles that subvert and exceed people’s expectations of an “art experience.”
The experience of ONISM is one that at first takes you to a comforting scene of erotic aesthetics. Tricking the mind into believe that your safe in the perspective of self, it then rips off the vail of comfort and thrusts you onto a dinner plate of sensuality where you are the main course, pushing and pumping emotions of pleasure and fear into your veins and leaving you with a sense of unfulfilled sensuality that afterwards makes you yearn for more.
