About the artists:
Truus de Groot’s career started at the beginning of the Punk Rock craze in 1976 in The Netherlands. She started out as a vocalist and lyric writer and branched out into experimental electronic instruments, which also became part of her passion. Eventually it led her to design her own instruments today. Her path has been a long and winding road that has led her all around the world, collaborating with all types of people in a variety of genres and cultures. She is always looking for a new challenge, as she continue to seek exciting ways to express myself creatively through music, words, photography and film. Thanks to cyberspace, there are no more borders and creativity is abundant! There is a freedom to work with anyone in the world on a multi-media level. Many of her recent projects have been developed this way; this is a brand new level of collaboration for her, which has been proven to be very fruitful indeed.
As an artist interested in multiple musical directions and one who strives for quality and sincerity in his work, Devin Gray’s exciting energy has compelled him towards many different musical directions and projects. Considered by his contemporaries as cutting edge, Gray shows promise as an artist that will not only move the music forward, but one who will share his unique musical vision with the world of music. His fresh approach to modern drumming has enabled him to play with many of the worlds great jazz musicians. He has performed and recorded with innovative musicians of contrasting styles and backgrounds such as: David Liebman, Tony Malaby, Gary Thomas, Ingrid Jensen, Dave Burrell, Dave Ballou, Michael Formanek, Nate Wooley, Stephan Crump, George Garzone, Chris Speed, Drew Gress, Sam Rivers, Ralph Alessi, John O’Gallagher, Ellery Eskelin, Kris Davis, Ted Rosenthal, Matt Mitchell, Satoko Fujii, Uri Caine, Andrew D’Angelo, Vardan Ovsepian, Angelica Sanchez, as well as many others.
Bubba Fontaine is an American experimental songwriter, composer, guitarist, multimedia artist, and maker from Indianapolis, Indiana. His music is eclectic and sometimes, deliberately, a little bizarre. No single musical genre encapsulates the entire Fontaine catalog. Fontaine’s aural creations have been described or labeled as all of the following: experimental, progressive fusion, rock, Avant-Garde chamber, and ambient electronic music. The Fontaine musical ensemble changes frequently and is designed to shape-shift depending on the musical direction and requirements. More recent ensembles have included members of the Straight Up Chumps, the Max Allen Band, Lynzi Stringer, Tracksuit Lyfestyle, Ultravolt, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, among others. Mixing and combining sounds and textures from various talented musicians from around the globe is the backbone of Bubba Fontaine.
Casey Cooper, who performs as Coastal Dives, is a composer and performer from Columbus, OH. He received his bachelor’s in Music Composition from The Ohio State University in 2004, and is currently active composing music for film, solo release, and The Receiver.
