On the evening of Friday, November 6, we are thrilled and delighted to feature hybrid media artist Paul Catanese (ORD), collaborative sound/Butoh performance group MouseVision (CLE), experimental electronic musician Mkl Anderson’s solo project DREKKA (IND), and experimental musician/percussionist Jake Kundu (CMH). Doors 7:30pm, show begins at 8:00pm sharp. $10.00 prepaid, $15 at the door.

About the artists:
Paul Catanese is a hybrid media artist whose work spans installation, performance, sound, experimental opera, projection, net.art, and printmaking. While long working with modular synthesis as a studio tool, his recent performance practice extends these processes into live contexts with modular systems, tape-based media, and voice. His work has been exhibited at institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Chicago Cultural Center, New Museum of Contemporary Art, Ann Arbor Film Festival, and the International Symposium on Electronic Art.
MouseVision is a collaborative movement/sound collective, informed by Butoh, Deep Listening practices, improvisation, and a radical present tense. MouseVision consists of Laura Swedenborg (Butoh dance), Kristen Ban Drake (Butoh, sound), and bbob drake (sound).
DREKKA is the solo project of experimental composer, producer, and audio archivist Mkl Anderson, who has been performing and recording under this moniker 1996. Based in Bloomington, Indiana, his work spans dark ambient, drone, industrial, and “bedroom noise folk”. He utilizes a massive personal archive of cassette tapes, field recordings, and found audio dating back to the mid-1980s.
Jake Kundu is an American classical percussionist dedicated to advancing contemporary percussion literature and chamber music. An active soloist and ensemble performer, Kundu has been featured at prominent contemporary music festivals, including the So Percussion Summer Institute, where he performed in large-scale outdoor installations like Field of Vision at PS21 Chatham. He was also named an alternate in the highly competitive Collegiate/Open Solo Category of the Great Plains Marimba Competition. Kundu holds a Master of Music in Classical Performance from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Capital University. His performance repertoire spans a diverse array of modern solo works, including performances of J.P. Sathas’s Koolish Zein: Her Alchemy at the UNT American Percussion Seminar.
