About the artists:
MiM (Ben Goldberger, Day Glow Modular, Chicago) is a modular synth improv fiend who lives for the wild magic and accidents of the live performance experience. MiM takes each performance as an opportunity to assemble a new rig, merging the world of acoustic noise with the power and breadth of modular synthesis. From delicate and hypnotic, to strange and intense, MiM is a singular journey into sense and sound. Feed the machines, and they will sing. In 2019, Ben co-founded Day Glow Modular, a Chicago-based performance collective with a mission to support a healthy synth community and to give local performers a chance to shine. In 2023, Day Glow earned a Chicago Reader’s Best of Chicago recognition for Night Beams, a series of dance-forward live hardware events that continues today.
Kevin M. Kennedy has over his intrepid 35 year music career has performed in multiple genres of music, most notably under the name FBK. Using his classical training, his works have explored the gamut of compositional ideas, styles and colors. As a performer, his live performances are largely improvised, finding new ways of maximizing minimalist setups. For his performance, Kevin will be debut an experimental/dark ambient project, with a digital album release on the day of performance. Kevin is a board member, instructor, and volunteer for the Fuse Factory.
