May 2021 Frequency Fridays Livestream Edition

May 7, 2021 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

On the evening of Friday, May 7th, we are delighted to present via our Twitch channel live-stream and prerecorded performances of noise musician Jeff Carey (BALT), video artist Eric Souther (PA), and experimental electronic musician/digital artist Adam McKinley (CMH). The live-stream will begin promptly at 8:00pm. Donations of $5-$20 via paypal.me/thefusefactory are warmly accepted.

Our Frequency Fridays 2020-2021 season is supported by the Greater Columbus Arts Council, the Ohio Arts Council, and the Columbus Foundation.

About the artists:

Jeff Carey makes synthetic noise music with an physically controlled software based instrument of his own development called ctrlKey. His music is abstract and sculptural, full of shapes and gesture, colored by noise bursts, percussive glitches and shifting resonance. In recent work, he has incorporated lighting projection to explore the space between visceral and the external embodiment of sound. He builds physically controllable custom software synthesis instruments and is interested in exploring immediate and flexible sound production with virtuosity in electronic music.

Eric Souther explores the ritualistic spaces of culture enacted through digital means. He creates tools and images that work to reveal the subliminal effects of media on our world-view. He looks to develop new ways of seeing beyond the seductive qualities of an image in order to discover new possibilities of understanding the system in which we live and participate.

Subduction, an audio/visual project by Columbus sound artist Adam McKinley, explores textural dark ambient soundscapes fused with manipulated abstract video synthesis.
