Interface: Turner Matthews + Eli Chambers + Caleb Miller

November 11, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$6.19 – $10

Ticket sales for this event are closed.

The November Interface residency series will feature composer/performer Eli Chambers and keyboardist/ saxophonist/composer/educator Caleb Miller. Eli is a multifaceted and virtuosic musician whose music ranges from original compositions for wind ensembles, experimental guitar feedback installations, to psychedelic chamber rock (seriously though, you should check out Eli’s group Maxwell Hedron).

Caleb’s work mostly focuses on midwestern perspectives surrounding improvisational-based music and projects. In Columbus, Caleb plays and subs in many jazz-adjacent projects (Gault, Radarhill, Sun Trash, Yumbambe, Ryan Jewell Quintet, Waves De Ache), songs groups (Zack Kouns and His Insatiable Orchestra, Taylor K Conrad, Keating, Fables, Francis Bacon Band), contemporary classical settings (dance accompanist, classical pianist) and other settings (Here Here, solo work, audio work, Very Much Recordings). As output he tends to be most interested in productions that show a true synthesis of perspectives, sounds, individuals and communities (striving for some form of “newness”/ “things that are their own” always). Caleb also currently operates the Columbus-based recording label Very Much Recordings and teaches in the American public (!) school system. Caleb’s website: calebismiller.net

Doors 8:00pm, show begins at 8:30pm. Performance will take place in the Cultural Arts Center 2nd floor painting studio. $6.19 prepaid ($5 + $1.19 TicketTailor processing fee), $10 at the door.
