Yana Davydova is a versatile electric and classical guitar player. As an electric guitarist she is known for her ethereal rich textures and creative guitar work influenced by modern classical guitar repertoire as well as ambient/noise sounds and free improvisation. She regularly performs, records and tours with a variety of art rock, jazz bands and electronic music projects (Woodhead, We is Shore Dedicated, Ryne Ziemba band, Alex Weiss’ “Glad Irys” quintet, New York A/V Institute) as well as her main project, Echo Moth, for which she writes music and lyrics. Besides session guitar work, she frequently performs as an improviser creating looped guitar soundscapes and textures either as a solo act or in collaboration with other musicians or theater companies. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music in guitar performance, where she studied with David Starobin and Mark Delpriora, Yana resides in New York City.
