On the evening of Saturday, March 11 we are proud to present our 2023 artist-in-resident Caleb Miller, which will include performances by several of his projects: pincer, the Taylor Conrad Quartet, and a duet with Melvin Jackson. Doors 8:00pm, show begins at 8:30pm. $6.50 online, $10 at the door.
More about Caleb’s featured projects:
pincer: pincer is a songs project he started this year with Troy Kunkler and Eve Lenker. The previous iteration of pincer was a duo between Caleb and Troy, and can be listened to here.
Taylor Conrad Quartet: Over the past few years, Caleb has made a fair amount of music with guitar/improviser Taylor Conrad. Taylor recently moved to Athens, OH and Caleb thought this would be a great opportunity to “bring him back up”. This quartet features Taylor, Celeb, Fred Pfening and Troy Kunkler.
Melvin Jackson: Caleb met Melvin in the fall of 2022 at Gerard Cox’s “What You Will” festival and immediately fell in love with Melvin’s french horn playing. Melvin is one hell of a horn player who lives in the greater Cincinnati/Dayton area, and he performs with a variety of professional orchestras and chamber ensembles. His approach is welcoming, precise and a joy to play with. Melvin and Caleb (as well as the rest of the crew) will be improvising in a variety of settings throughout the bill.
Our 2023 artist residency series is supported by a grant from New Music USA.
