SUMMARY:Winter Break Day Camp: Make Music with Technology!
DESCRIPTION:About the camp: Join electronic musician/artist Matt Moldover as he hosts a day of music making with technology.  Kids in grades 7 thorough 12 will learn how to solder\, and assemble two of Moldover’s “playable packaging” instruments: The Light Theremin and The Voice Crusher.  In addition\, Moldover will give a live performance and demonstration of two of his custom stage instruments\, an augmented guitar called The Robocaster and an augmented microphone called The MC1.  The camp session will conclude with a group jam session with Moldover’s multiplayer “ConnecTable”\, along with a collective recording session that will teach participants how to make music from scratch with the popular music software Ableton Live. \nAbout the instructor: Moldover is a professional musician\, artist\, and inventor of musical instruments. He is best known for coining the term controllerism and supporting its adoption with a diverse body of work including live performances\, eclectic compositions\, educational videos\, and the creation of totally new kinds of electronic instruments. As an innovator\, educator\, and devout lover of all things creative\, Moldover’s goal to share inspiration and to bridge the gap between traditional musicianship and modern music cultures.  \nNote: Before-care (8-9am) and after-care (4-5pm) can be made available.
