SUMMARY:Performance: Artist-in-residence show #2: MACRO-MICRO
DESCRIPTION:On the evening of Friday\, June 20th\, we are thrilled to present the second performance of our artist-in-residence 2025 season: MACRO-MICRO. Our 2025 artist-in-residence program features a year-long collaboration between digital artist CG Ryan and multi-instrumentalist Gerard Cox. Doors 7:30pm\, show begins at 8:00pm sharp. $10 prepaid\, $15 at the door. \nAbout MACRO-MICRO: Concept: Gerard Cox + C.G. Ryan. Music: Coral Castles (sonic duo between Thane Evans + Michael Vawter); Trista Hill (improv harp). Visuals: Krista Faist + C.G. Ryan. Production: Mural ReMix. \nMACRO-MICRO: Come see what is hidden. \nMACRO-MICRO explores sonic and visual patterns\, space and scale\, and the tension between the human desires to understand and to be in awe of mystery. Musicians Trista Hill\, Gerard Cox\, and synth duo Coral Gables (Thane Evans and Michael Vawter) weave music that transports the listener to vast outer and minute inner realms\, and allows space and time to question\, wonder\, and contemplate. C.G. RYAN will be performing live video mixing to accompany the sonic experience\, projected on the Old First sanctuary’s 40-foot vaulted ceiling and walls. \nFor MACRO-MICRO\, Ryan is joined by media artist Krista Faist in gathering and creating imagery that focuses on what we can see with what we cannot\, layering scale and perceptual shifts. Digitally captured imagery plays with computer generated patterning and hand-drawn animations in a dance that invites people to enjoy a meditative poetic state. \nThe audience is encouraged to bring yoga matts and wear comfortable clothing to fully appreciate the immersive\, relaxing experience as imagery is projected onto 40-foot ceilings of the historic Old First Sanctuary by Mural ReMix [Digital Arts Collective]. \nNOTE: Floor seating space is limited\, doors open at 7:30pm for an opportunity for best viewing locations. Due to the nature of this event\, it is likely to sell out\, advance ticket purchases are encouraged at: thefusefactory.org \nMACRO-MICRO will open with Trista Hill\, improvisational contemporary harpist\, beginning at 8pm\, playing until sunset. With deepening darkness\, Coral Castles with begin\, later joined by Trista Hill and Gerard Cox (percussion). \nCORAL CASTLES is a sonic collaboration between musicians Thane Evans and Michael Vawter.
