DESCRIPTION:On the evening of Friday\, October 7th\, we are delighted to present audiovisual performance collective MSHR (NYC/PDX)\, experimental electroacoustic musician/instrument inventor Tim Kaiser (MN)\, electronic experimental musician Bob Bucko (IA)\, and experimental electronic musician/composer Eden Grey (CMH). Doors 7:00pm\, show begins at 7:30pm sharp. $9.25 prepaid ($8 + $1.25 TicketTailor processing fee)\, $10 per ticket at the door. \nCovid protocols: All attendees are strongly encouraged wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. We will provide masks at the door. We kindly request that audience members refrain from bringing food and drinks into the space. \nSupporters of our 2022-2023 season include the Greater Columbus Arts Council\, the Ohio Arts Council\, the National Endowment for the Arts\, New Music USA\, and the Columbus Foundation. \nAbout the artists: \nMSHR builds and explores systems composed of sound\, light\, sculpture\, software\, circuitry and human presence. Their practice is a self-transforming entity with its outputs patched into its inputs\, expressing its form through interactive installations\, virtual environments and live improvisations that integrate interface design with generative systems and a distinctive formalist approach. MSHR was established as an art collective in 2011 by Brenna Murphy and Birch Cooper. Their name is a modular acronym\, designed to hold varied ideas over time. \nTim Kaiser is well known in the atmospheric experimental music scene for his blending of acousto-electric contraptions and Frankenstein electronics to create ethereal\, layered drones. His sonic landscapes have been called “experiments in adventurous art” and “eclectic genius” by the likes of Make Magazine\, Wired\, the New Art Examiner and the Associated Press. Mr. Kaiser was featured on the PBS program MakeTV and has headlined numerous experimental music festivals in the US. Kaiser commands his creations with simple sweeps of his hands\, willing sounds into existence. He has scored films\, been featured on PBS as well as in magazines\, and has toured extensively. How he gets by airport security with his devices is anyone’s guess\, but his hand-built instruments are as alluring as the sounds they make. Kaiser has been a founding contributor and champion of the Weirdo Industrial Complex for more than 30 years. \nBob Bucko\, Jr. resides and records in Dubuque\, Iowa\, a quarter mile from the Mississippi River. Relentlessly touring and uncompromisingly prolific\, according to Joshua Tabbia (Already Dead Tapes & Records)\, Bucko “has spent the last several years establishing himself as a widely varied experimental artist. His output is consistently engaging and eclectic\, while somehow never pulling the same punch twice.” Bucko also performs with the improvised drone collective Venereal Crush\, free improv duo Sex Funeral\, electro pop outfit Arc Numbers\, alternative country rockers Dirty Swears\, and is a recurring guest with Milwaukee’s rockist free jazz outfit One More Final I Need You. Bucko also regularly collaborates with many artists across genres\, including Alexander Adams (Galaaxu)\, Stuart Dahlquist (Asva\, Burning Witch)\, rapper Darko the Super (The Hell Hole Store)\, and experimental guitarist Storm Ross. \nEden Grey (aka Dr. Chelsea Bruno) is a music composer\, producer\, artist\, and founder of. @cv_freqs. modular synthesis events.
