DESCRIPTION:On the evening of Friday\, March 4\, we are delighted to present via our Twitch channel cellist/composer Lester St. Louis (NYC)\, digital artist/musician Allan Pichardo (OR)\, Max Bajzek’s solo electronic instrumental and visual arts project thoughtForm\, and pop-punk band Sweet Teeth (CMH). The live-stream will begin promptly at 8:00pm. Donations of $5-$20 via paypal.me/thefusefactory are warmly accepted. \nOur Frequency Fridays 2021-2022 season is supported by the Greater Columbus Arts Council\, the Ohio Arts Council\, the Columbus Foundation\, and the SBA. \nAbout the artists: \nLester St. Louis is a New York City born and based multi-instrumentalist\, composer and sound designer. Lester often performs on cello working with artists and musicians for concerts\, recordings\, installations\, theatre and educational programs. \nAs a digital artist\, Allan Pichardo finds the hidden things that modern technology obfuscates about ourselves and use code to expose them in their naked form through speculative software—repurposed and hacked applications meant to subvert the original intention of the technology. Presented as interactive installations\, netart\, video games\, and hacked software\, his work intends to upend the relationship between consumers of technology and the power structures that exploit them for data. \nthoughtForm is the solo electronic instrumental and visual arts project of Max Bajzek. Started in 2015 and based in Pittsburgh\, Pennsylvania\, thoughtForm aims to create weapons against despair in its experimentation with both novel and reimagined sounds. It does so most commonly through its tribal rhythms\, cinematic synths\, ambient soundscapes\, and wide-ranging visual tie-ins\, which include rendered fractals\, stop-motion animation\, slow-motion examinations\, photographs\, drawings\, and more. thoughtForm is perhaps best known for its use of the unique Linnstrument\, a MIDI controller which allows exploration of synthesized sounds in a more human way via its expressive interface. \nBad girls of Columbus artpop and nice guys of Columbus punk\, Sweet Teeth make raw\, frantic music for the genre-curious. Lopsided waltzes\, electronic chamber punk and disintegrating psych soundscapes lay the background for intensely emotional stories of relationships with others\, the self and the world.
