SUMMARY:Workshop: Ableton Live workshop series part 4: The finished product - how to make and mix a song with Live
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Kevin Kennedy AKA FBK\nWorkshop fee: $43.50\nSeries (all four workshops) fee: $165 \nAfter learning the basics in the first three parts\, the fourth part of the series will focus on making an arrangement-or creating a song from all of your parts in the session view (and turning it into a song that you can play for others). We’ll discuss the two major ways that you can create a song in Ableton Live\, and also how the two different working methodologies interact with each other. We’ll cover basic mixing techniques\, saving your work\, and how to export a song in Ableton…and also how to export ‘stems’ or a ‘loop package’ that could be used to collaborate with others\, or for a mixing engineer to mix and master your work elsewhere. This class will focus on using all of the knowledge gained in previous classes to get to the end of the project! \nWe’ll cover: \n\nHow to turn your loops and parts into a song\nHow to record a song in real-time and edit later\nHow to ‘draw’ your way to a finished song\nClips into tracks\, and tracks into recordings\nMixing your tracks together to make a good stereo mix\nHow to make Live sound good\, and tips to avoid bad mixes\nWhy you’ll never want an external recorder ever again\nHow to save your song and make it a .wav or .aiff file\nLive’s ‘exporting’ features-and how to send audio files to your collaborator\n\nWorkshop attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own laptops with Ableton Live already installed. No previous experience with electronic music\, composition\, performance\, or Ableton Live is required.
