On the evening of Saturday, October 7th we are proud to present free jazz guitarist Ross Hammond and experimental saxophonist/composer Adam Buffington (CMH). Additional performers tbd. The performance will take place at the It Looks Like Its Open gallery (13 E. Tulane Rd, cmh 43202). Admission: $5. Doors 7:30pm. BYOB, all ages.

About the performers:

Sacramento guitarist Ross Hammond has played on large stages and in small corners throughout the United States and beyond. His sound is equal parts jazz, folk, blues, spirituals and world music. He has played for Hillary Clinton, to audiences of five and all points in between. Ross has collaborated/gigged/recorded with: Kevin Seconds, Oliver Lake, Pheeroan AkLaff, Vinny Golia, Vladimir Tarasov, Tetuzi Akiyama, Nicole Mitchell, Lizz Wright, Dwight Trible, Calvin Weston, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Alex Cine, Suzuki Junzo, Amy Reed, Nels Cline, Jeff Parker, Max Johnson, Steve Adams, Ken Filiano, Mike Pride, Catherine Sikora, Scott Amendola, Steuart Liebig, Sameer Gupta, Tony Passarell and more.

Adam Buffington is a composer and performer exploring the experiential effects of glacial physical movement and gesture in combination with quiet, delicate noise and prolonged silences. His work as composer and saxophonist has been presented at such venues as Hartford Art School, Real Art Ways (Hartford), Ely Center of Contemporary Art (New Haven), Mengi (Reykjavik), Reykjavik Art Museum, and ARTgallery GÁTT (Kópavogur). He has recently studied at the Iceland Academy of the Arts in Reykjavik under Atli Ingólfsson, and has collaborated with such composers and performers as Zach Rowden, Trevor Saint, Henry Birdsy, Matt Sargent, and Robert Carl.
