About the performers and artists:

Muyassar Kurdi is a New York City-based interdisciplinary artist. Her work encompasses sound art, extended vocal technique, performance art, movement, photography, and film. She has toured extensively in the U.S. and throughout Europe. A versatile improviser, Muyassar has composed and performed music for voice, harmonium, piano, lyre, autoharp, theremin, bass, and cello. She currently focuses her attention to interweaving homemade electronic instruments and sculpture into her vocal and dance performances, stirring a plethora of emotions from her audience members through vicious noise, ritualistic chants, and meditative movements. Most recently she completed SEVEN VOICES, a multi-channel project for seven voices, which was recorded during her artist residency at EMS in Stockholm February 2018. She also released Travelling on NORENT Records and Intersections and Variations on Astral Spirits in early 2018. Performance highlights include: The Rubin Museum of Art, Issue Project Room, Cafe OTO, Chicago Cultural Center, Center for Contemporary Art Laznia, Bond Chapel, Fridman Gallery, University Galleries, and Judson Memorial Church. Collaborators include Daniel Carter, Diana Policarpo, Ka Baird, Tomomi Adachi, Arrington de Dionyso, Yasuno Miyauchi, Lucie Vitkova, Tyler Damon, Bradley Eros, Laraaji, Patrick Holmes, and Ben LaMar among others.

Klimchak is a composer known for his use of electronics & homebuilt instruments. His work has been seen in dance, theater & solo performances around the world. In 2011, he was given a grant by Idea Capital to make a series of compositions for home-built percussion instruments with lights incorporated in them. They were performed in 2012/2013 as flash percussion performances, titled Klimchak’s Lebeato Lounge. In March, 2015, Klimchak premiered his solo show, CooksNotes, in which he makes music on kitchen implements while cooking dinner for the audience.

embral is the duo of Adam Holquist (Erie, PA) and Charles Shriner (Indianapolis, IN). Beginning in 2012, the pair have released three critically acclaimed studio albums, eight live albums and given over 100 live performances, first under their combined solo monikers of onewayness + dRachEmUsiK, and continuing from 2017 as embral. Their music is often improvised and draws influence from a variety of musical and non-musical sources. A fourth studio album will be released Fall of 2018.

Lisa Bella Donna is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, modular synthesist, clinician, all around sonic sorceress. She works with EYE, Descendre, Earthquaker Devices, Simone Weißenfels, Scotty Bottcher, Elliot Levin, Juan Alderate, Jamie Stillman, and many musicians and artists all throughout USA and Europe.
