Heidi Hörsturz (NL) + Owen Hopper (CMH) + Throbbin Williams (CMH)
September 15, 2018

On Saturday, September 15th, we are proud to present Rotterdam-based new media artist Heidi Heidi Hörsturz, experimental electronic musician Owen Hopper (Cincy), and experimental electronic/noise musician/sound artist Throbbin Williams (CMH). Doors 7:30pm, cover $5-$10. BYOB, all ages.

About the performances and performers:

Rotterdam based media artist Heidi Hörsturz is working in the fields of audiovisual performance, video and sound art. Her work has been presented at international exhibitions, galleries and art festivals. Her animations, live shows and installations combine contemporary art and modern digital trash aesthetics. She published a series of limited soundart vinyls and audiotapes which researches the connection of noise, artificial overstimulation and constructed visual associations.

One of the thematic emphasis of her work is the desire of the contemporary society to get more overstimulation in rapidly shrinking attention spans. The search for shocking informations and sexual content and the yearning for a colourful world tries to replace the current depression. The repression of self-reflection with audiovisual brain attacks represents a striving for an artificially constructed world.

Owen Hopper is a composer, sound artist, guitarist, and computer programmer based in Cincinnati, Ohio. His work has most recently taken form in large multi-speaker installation pieces and live, improvised performances involving modular synthesizers and computer systems.

Throbbin Williams is the electronic music/noise art solo project of Columbus-based multi-instrumentalist Rich Meara.
