Lab Lift-Off: Technology for All! Sept. 20th

“Lab Lift Off” is an open house to be held on Monday, September 20th 2010 celebrating the official opening of the Community Computer Lab inside the church Summit on 16th. This lab was created by the University Area Enrichment Association (UAEA) in Collaboration with FreeGeek Columbus to help make technology more accessible to all. It is centrally located at 82 East 16th Avenue, Columbus.

The evening will celebrate the start of The Fuse Factory’s Fall Workshop series, showcase the growth of Girl’s Lab Night, highlight the expansion of free open lab hours, and increase awareness of the lab space in the community. Local musicians and performers will jam outside the lab, while inside, plans for what the lab space has done and intends to provide the community will be showcased. There will be light refreshments.

Evening schedule:

7:00pm – Welcome

  • Lab open – social with refreshments
  • Open mic performances by local musicians
  • Computer-based interactive presentation in the lab

7:45pm – Welcome addresss

  • Catherine Girves, UAEA Director
  • Jennifer Deafenbaugh, Fuse Factory Assistant Director

  • Open lab, presentations, and open mic
