Intro to Blender Part 2 (FULL)

Blender is an open source 3D creative content suite. It is a complete 3D animation and graphics package, which rivals commercially available products used by professional animation companies. This free tool allows anyone to create images and animations through 3D modeling an rendering. Blender is freely distributed for all operating systems including; Windows, Linux, Mac OSX, Irix, Solaris, FreeBSD and many more.
Topics covered in Intro to Blender include:
- Blender basics and basic modeling
- Meshing
- Applying textures
- Simple lighting
- Camera operation
- Basic animation
By the end of the course, participants will have a basic under standing and the ability to create a simple model, scene, and animation using Blender.
Students should bring their own laptop and a three-button or wheel mouse. If possible, please download the latest release of Blender (2.5) prior to class and install it.

About the Instructor:
Ed Helwig is a contributing developer to Blender Project since 2002, working mostly with the rendering pipeline and tools. He has been a contract programmer to animation industry since 1998, specializing in techniques for skins and furs. Currently, Ed is a Senior Engineer for an automotive R&D company specializing in crash simulation and applications used for non-linear finite element analysis. His current project is a childrens animated series developed for pre-school learning. In his spare time he devotes time to his family and to flying.
