Getting Started with Flash Animation (repeat)

Flash is a powerful graphics program that allows you to create dynamic, interactive animated content for everything from basic linear animations to entire web sites. This workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals of animation in conjunction with various Flash tools that enable them to create simple animations. The workshop will cover:
- Animation basics: How animation works
- Using the Flash timeline
- Creating and importing graphics
- Organizing content with layers
- Creating frame-by-frame and motion tween animations
- Controlling the timeline with basic actionscript
- Adding interactivity to buttons
- Publishing your Flash animations
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a laptop with a copy of Flash CS3 or CS4 installed (30-day trial versions of CS4 are available at the Adobe website). They are also encouraged to email the instructor prior to the workshop with any questions about the sessions format or content.
About the instructor: Alison is the Founder and Executive Director of The Fuse Factory. She has worked with new media as an artist since 1990, and she has taught new media to teens and adults for nearly a dozen years.
