In this workshop, participants will be introduced to basic computer programming concepts using the open source software application Processing. Processing was developed especially for artists and designers who are curious about computer programming, and benefit from using a visually-oriented application that enables them to create drawings, interactive works, and animations easily. This introductory workshop also provides the foundation for those who wish to learn other programming applications such as Actionscript and Flash.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a wireless-enabled laptop. There will be some desktop and laptop computers available – please email the instructor to reserve one.
About the instructor: Alison Colman is the founder and Executive Director of The Fuse Factory. She has nearly a dozen year’s experience teaching K-16 art and new media.
