Learn how to use Processing to create animated graphics. Topics will include: using the draw loop to create animation, reacting to user input, and creating basic 3D graphics (using both P3D and OpenGL). Along the way, we will discuss some intermediate coding topics, such as using classes to structure code. Some Processing or other programming experience recommended. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, although there will be some laptops and desktop computers available. Please contact us if you need to reserve one.

About the instructor: Benjamin Schroeder is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Ohio State University. His research interests include computer animation, sound synthesis, and the use of computational concepts in the arts. He recently worked as a graduate assistant on “Synchronous Objects for One Flat Thing, reproduced,” a project to initiate a new kind of interactive dance literature, at OSU’s Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design.
